SerenityNow: Well, it's time to put this awesome day to bed. It was a great day with 300 of our very favorite people in the world.

Our attendance this year was, as near as we can tell, 300 cachers making this the largest Ohio event, barring mega events. Cachers came from Ohio, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, Ontario, New York, Massachusetts, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Michigan making this a true All-Star event.

A big congratulations to our Baseball game winners, the Splendid Splinters, consisting of LuvWahoo, CapFantasy, Crocodile Hunter, Nightowls01, RageXN, and Funky Monkey, who tied with Bacon Rounds the Bases, winning by returning to the clubhouse 28 minutes before the Bacon crew slid into home base! After competing in all 7 Grand Caching events, LuvWahoo, CapFantasy, and Crocodile Hunter captured the prize as part of a truly amazing team of players. You guys ROCK!

We also want to thank the Independence DoubleTree for hosting our event this year. Everything was absolutely perfect from the room and food to the terrific hospitality room, lodging, and cash bar. Your exceptional hospitality was much appreciated and made the day... the entire weekend.... a wonderful memory for everyone. We cannot say enough good things about your incredible staff. They met our every need and beyond.

Many thanks to our contributors who provided us with prizes galore. Who were they you ask? Here is the list: Landsharkz, Shulas2, Magellan, Mr. Heater, Trimble, Mad Cow, PAGA, Worldcaching, The Lake Erie Captains, The Akron Aeros, Dicks Sporting Goods, LABBOO, Sew Bananas, Cache Addicts, and SoCal Geocoins.

Thanks to the design abilities of Tprints, the event shirts were a hit and the coins.... Personal Geocoins by Rusty produced real winners again this year. The Geocoin Club produced our pathtags and lanyards. Hope everyone enjoyed them.

Most of all, we would like to thank all of you for your amazing and continued support of our Grand Caching Event. You are the reason it exists and you are the reason it continues! Each and everyone of you deserves the MVC award.... Most Valuable Cacher!

Step One: Develop a Team

ONE vehicle per team. Use of more than one will result in immediate disqualification!
Teams must consist of 2 or more players. We strongly suggest groups of three or more as it will give you the best chance for success. We suggest the following....
* You'll need a driver
* A navigator is a must
* Runners are a plus!
* If you are a team with room for one more please contact single players and ask them to join you.
* If the day of the event rolls around and you still don't have a team, come anyway and ask around. We have never had anyone left out. Someone always has room for one or two more players. It's a great way to make new caching friends!

Step Two: Arrive on time

Arrive at the above coordinates at 10:30 AM on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 with GPS in hand, ready for anything.
You will be registered as you arrive and registration will end PROMPTLY at 11:30 AM.
The building we are using is an indoor facility with clean indoor bathrooms

Step Three: Receive your instructions

Be on time so you don't miss one single piece of information! Late comers will be at a distinct disadvantage!
The briefing will begin PROMPTLY at 11:40 AM!

Step Four: Strategize

Creativity is the key to this event. Strategize with your team members.
Think outside the box... way outside the box!

Step Five: When your Commissioner & Coaches yell "Play Ball!" at approximately 12:10 PM, jump in your vehicle and let the good times roll.

Remember, your whole team has to fit in one vehicle.
(ALL normal laws and rules of the road apply!)

What to Bring:

A GPS (a compass might be handy too!)
Pens and/or pencils.
Scrap paper.
Your sense of adventure.
$10.00 per person ages 11-adult. $6.00 per child ages 4 -10 years.

What Will Be Provided:

The event is catered! A meal of American ballpark fare will be presented for your dining pleasure!
Pop, water, and coffee
A cash bar will be available for adult beverages upon your return to the clubhouse at the end of the event.
Trophies and prizes

Notes:

Multiple prizes will be awarded.
Children are welcome! Be sure, however, that they can tolerate an extended period of time in a vehicle.
You'll find a wide variety of cache hides in the area, so by all means, make it a caching weekend and stay a few days!
Sorry but absolutely no dogs are permitted in the facility.
Also, no alcoholic beverages may be brought onto the property.
