You and your family are invited to the 13th annual GeoCaching Event by the Lacy Family.
At the Nancytown Group Campground which is located in the Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area near Cornelia, GA. Create and enjoy your favorite cook out food, mixed with some GPS fun thrown in. Then spend the night if you want.
Since we don't expect a repeat of the 2013 government shutdown, this event will be all day Saturday Oct 3rd 2015 beginning at 10am until dark, or overnight if you like.
Now all activities are optional. You can take part in just one or two or any combination or all of them. If you just want to stop by socialize for awhile that is fine.
Each person or group is asked to bring a sack lunch. Don't forget to bring your coffee and donuts, for Sunday morning.
For Saturday night there will be potluck meal, each family or group is responsible for bringing their own favorite camp food and cooking skills for you or your family to enjoy. We will eat around the evening camp fire that we will have for everybody to enjoy. We will set around the fire and tell some tall tails, and maybe somebody will tell a scary story.
You should try to bring everything you need but civilization is close by. There are toilets in the campground. Unfortunately there no water here. You can either bring it with you or go to the Lake Russell Campground and get some there.
If you are real gun ho outdoor people, you are invited to camp with us overnight either Friday or Saturday or both. Things to bring will include heavy bed cover because the nights in Oct. mountains may be cool or hot. Bring your tent and camping gear, and join the fun. Come prepared for the weather.
Games
I am not sure what we are in for this year. Bubba told me that just after last year's campout a genologist or as Bubba said a "junologist" stopped by and told Bubba that he would trace Bubba's family for a small charge. So Bubba agreed. Well I think Bubba might have been gypped. Bubba told me that his ancestors include Sir Loin of Beef, Earl of Cloves, and Baron of Munchausen. Bubba has really gotten gun ho on the whole thing so no telling what he will come up with.
