Geocache Description:

For a period of 100 years, there had been a railway system in Mauritius. Most tracks have been removed a long time ago. Our cache has been hidden near to the Savannah bridge. This bridge was not passed by passenger trains but by trains bringing sugar from the Savannah sugar factory to Souillac. From there the sugar was carried on to Port Louis - either by train or by ship. In the Post Museum of Port Louis you can see a map of the old railway system. However, that map only displays the tracks of the passenger trains. This is the reason why you will not find a description of the Savannah bridge there.
