A short walk to the cache, but a 150 foot climb and scramble, with great views of the countryside.
Park at the Equestrian Entrance (off of county highway G near Mt Vernon) next to the shelter on top of the hill or simply in front of the gate if the gate is closed.
UPDATE 10/26/2017:
Given the descriptions from recent posts, it is clear that the cache is in need of maintenance. Unfortunately, neither my father or I who originally placed the cache live in Wisconsin anymore so we cannot perform this maintenance. I would be very grateful if anyone would volunteer to help perform this maintenance but I understand that is not anyone else's responsibility. However, the "cache" can still live on without a physical log book simply as an interesting place to explore. While this is not an optimal solution, it is the only one we can offer at this time. I hope people will still enjoy the adventure trekking to the cache's location even if there might not be anything to discover at this point.
UPDATE 11/27/2017:
Thank you very much to Troop Daisy for your generous donation of a new cache container and log book. While I cannot confirm that cache is located at the coordinates listed, Troop Daisy seems to have some confidence that the cache is located near its original position. In any case, hopefully this new container and log book will allow the cache will continue to live on further into the future.
