Grassy Mountain is 5,078' elevation. The lookout is no longer there (it was destoyed in the '50s) but the views are well worth the drive. Since you can drive right to the top I worked a little harder hiding this one hence the 3 for difficulty. This is the third cache in the 'Lookout Series'.
Grassy Mountain Lookout was a log cabin with cupola, built in 1924. It was replaced in 1936 by a 30' pole L-4 tower. The cache is a clear shoe boxed sized container with a blue lid with the usual goodies and is located a short distance from the top.
The rocks are rather loose near the cache site so be sure to keep a hold of children and dogs. As you near the coordinates look for a game trail to the right to take you around the small cliff (the cache is not high but low in these rocks).
Do look UP before you enter the cache site -there is a hanging rock that is fine now, but with time and many seasons might cause concern.
You will need to bushwack about 10-15 feet through some thimble berries -if you time it right you could get a yummy snack!
