This Cache is in a highly decorated ammo box. It may take something
of a hike to get to this one, but it should be worthwhile for those
that love a good long hike.
There may be a couple of different ways of getting to this cache.
Plan at least a half day if you take the longer route. We haven't
tried the other routes yet, so it may be quite a hike also. It has
been noted in the logs, the various different ways to get to this
cache, some easier than others. There is one main established trail
to it though approx 3.5 miles one way. This main trail does not
allow bicycles on it but there are nearby/connecting trails that do
allow them. Also, various areas allow ATV's and horses too. Please
check guidelines for Uwharrie National Forest rules and
regulations. This is one of the oldest mountains in the USA! Near
the cache in the winter when the trees are bare you have a better
view of the river nearby.
