Geocache Description:

The folks at Lolo National Forest have offered us a challenge this year! Come out to the Sawmill Gulch Trailhead and lend us a hand!

Meet at the Sawmill Gulch Trailhead at 9 am on Saturday, April 26th.
The challenge:
Assist the LNF by hiking up to a pile of rolled barbed wire that was collected by other volunteers a few years ago. And CAREFULLY carry the barbed wire down to the trailhead for removal. We need at least 2-3 teams of people to assist with this part of the cleanup. Some removal ideas have been posted on the MOOG Google Group and a removal plan will be settled there.

For those who are not interested in the wire removal, Dean will be leading a clean-up crew from the Sawmill Gulch trailhead back down the road to the Rattlesnake Parking area.

Since parking is limited at the Sawmill Gulch area to about 5 vehicles we will probably need to have some folks park down at the Rattlesnake trailhead and carpool up if it looks like we will have a big group attending.

Remember to bring leather gloves and wear long pants and shirts if you are going to handle any wire. All participants in the wire work are required to wear safety glasses when handling wire, this is mandatory. Wildfire1 is going to bring some spare glasses as is the FS representative, but try to bring your own if possible.

"Gophers" and other grabber-type pick up tools really do come in handy. An orange vest or bright clothing is appropriate as well.

We are still debating where to go for dinner. China Buffet worked really well for last year's CITO.

Trashbags and latex gloves will be provided by the Forest Service and we have a few spare grabber tools as well. Bring your friends! Bring your parents! Bring folks who don't mind a 15 minute hike to a pile of barbed wire! Lets clean up the forest!
