Lashings of Ginger Beer!

Find this easy drive by cache and take a minute look at this fantastic old ex YHA building.
Not any old hostel , but the 1st ever purpose built YHA in the UK! (1931) and designed by the world famous architect, Sir Clough Williams- Ellis, who also designed and built Portmeirion ‘italian’ village.
Inside, it is apparently designed like the cabin of a ship, while outside it was to look like a Swiss chalet.
Local rumour has it that the famous five actually stayed here while they were solving the mystery of the disappearing sheep in ‘Five go youth hostelling at Maeshafn’ but unfortunately this one never made it to print. Their Aunt Fanny was born in nearby the nearby Glyndwr public house, although local historians now doubt this as fact.
From the cache hide, you can peek inside through the window to the famous 3 tier bunk beds. Golly! that top ones high.
Sadly, no longer a hostel, and now privately owned, so no trespassing!
This cache is a simply marvellous one to do along with the rest of the jolly fantastic Moel Findeg trail.
