This is our second placement. We love Portsmouth, NH; or as we call it Portsmouthia - we think of it as the Portlandia of the east coast :).
There are some neat caches around Portsmouth, and some great site-seeing and dining opportunities around the area. Hopefully, folks will find this one interesting, too.
The cache is on the Route 1, WW1 Memorial Bridge. It's a very cool vertical lift bridge. The history is interesting, but one very interesting fact is that the little girl who cut the ribbon to open the original bridge in 1923 went on to became Mayor of Portsmouth. Then, 90 years after opening the original bridge, she cut the ribbon to open the new one in 2012.
The cache is a magnetic hide-a-key and is located (at least according to Google Maps) right on the border between Portsmouth, NH and Kittery, ME. Try without the hint first; the hint really does give it away.
Good luck, and have fun!
Congratulations to PulmonaryHip on FTF! (BTW, love that handle :) ). I wasn't sure if anyone would find it until spring after that storm.
Update: Added a spoiler image and upped the difficulty to 2 since this one seems to be a bit more difficult than I suspected.
