Located between the Somervell County Museum and the surveryor's office is the old Hopewell Post Office. This log structure was moved to this location when the construction of Squaw Creek dam began.
While only in use for three years from 1901 to 1904, a local Hopewell resident remembered visiting this building to get mail in the olden days.
Just a few feet to the left of the Post Office is a large dinosaur footprint fossil which is the real reason that this cache exists. If the river is running high or muddy you won't be able to see the dino tracks over at the state park, but bring the kids to see this track even in the rain. Don't miss it!
In order to log this cache as a Find you need to send me the answers to the following questions:
- The first and last name of the Hopewell citizen.
- A brief description of the post office.
- The approximate width of the dinosaur track.
To email me click on "profile" next to my name at the top of this page. If you include the answer in your log (even if encrypted) it will be deleted.
Logs without a verification email are subject to deletion. You must actually visit this site in order to claim a find. Just like any virtual cache, do not put the answers in your log, even if encrypted!
