Geocache Description:

ARCHIVED

NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES

This cache is a replacement for "Baker's Dozen - Indian Mounds". Local kids at play created a situation where the Indian Mounds cache ended up smack dab in the middle of a paintball battlement. So I archived that one and placed this one in its stead. There is off-street parking on the west side of Washington.

I was hiking in the southwest metro and got lucky enough to witness a pick-up flag football game between some Purple Warriors past and present.

A strange collection it was. The rookie of the year in '73 was captain of one team and a seven time pro-bowl defensive lineman who joined the Vikings as an undrafted invitee in 1990 captained the other team.

Each chose in turn. Mr Rookie of the year chose Lance Johnstone, Roy Winston, and Teddy Garcia with his three picks.

The great D-Lineman picked Michael Bennett, Pat Williams, and Todd Bouman with his three picks.

The game was fun to watch. Bennett got hurt right away (Garcia kicked him). Winston flattened Bouman and pinned him with his walker. Johnstone and Williams spent most of the time tipping back some cold ones. So it was the rookie of the year against the D-Lineman. Now THOSE guys were fun to watch.

After about five minutes, everybody was completely gassed. I decided to hide a cache - something told me where to put it.

Oh, THAT's where Winter Park is...
