Cachin' Below the I.C. Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

DrAwKwArD: Sadly, I'm having to archive due to excessive foot traffic. I'm currently working with the I.C. staff on a new cache near Panorama Point. I imagine having it up and running in the next week or two. Thanks for the great support and I'm sure the new cache will be just as popular if not more so!

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Only 14% of the Oregon Trail still remains intact. This is one of the few areas where natural erosion and other factors haven't completely erased the ruts from the Wagons of old. This segment of trail has 3 sets of trail ruts. You should see at least 2 of the sets on your 1/4 mile walk to the cache.

You'll be looking for a 50 calibre ammo box hidden amongst sagebrush. The Interpretive Center will just barely come into view as you approach ground zero. The cache is located near the 4th Trail Stake (3rd if you choose to bypass the paved path). Please remember to tread lightly near these historical sites and enjoy the surroundings.

The Interpretive Center is always open from 9-4:00 and later during the summer months. It is closed December 25th, January 1st and Thanksgiving day.
