Geocache Description:

It is a short walk in a suburban woodland area. Wellingtons are advised as you have to get into water. You may not want to do this cache if it has been raining hard recently! From "The Fallows" sign at the above coordinates follow the path for 60p to sign and junction. Then continue on path for 167p to "siamese-twin" oaks. Enter stream here and walk upstream. Box is in base of 1st oak on LHS.The cache only contains a log book and a rubber stamp, so bring a pen.

I came to geocaching from letterboxing and in placing this cache aim to introduce geocachers to some basic ideas in letterboxing in the hope that the alternative clue-style may catch on. The most obvious difference between geocaching and letterboxing is that when you find a letterbox you find not only a log-book but also a rubber stamp. The idea being that you leave a print of your own stamp on the log-book and take a print of the box's in your own book. But there is more to letterboxing than rubberstamps just as there is more to geocaching than McDonald's toys! Another key difference is that typically a letterbox clue describes how to get to a box and the skill is in intrepreting and following the instructions, whereas typically in geocaching the location is known and the skill is in trying to get there. This cache contains a log book and a rubber stamp. Take your own pen, and ink pad if you want a copy of the stamp. PLEASE LEAVE THE RUBBER STAMP!
