The cache container is located at the posted coordinates. ** ABSOLUTELY NO GEOCACHING IN THIS AREA OUTSIDE OF POSTED HOURS ** Area is open Monday thru Saturday 8am to 6pm, and Sunday, Noon to 6pm.
To log this cache you must have found a Geocache in which the cache was located at least one mile (5,280 feet) above sea level. It can be any type of hide *except* Puzzle/Mystery, Event/CITO/Mega, Locationless or Benchmark. So Traditional, Multi, Virtual, and Letterboxes are all acceptable. EarthCaches and Webcams are only accepted if you are required to be at a point above the one-mile requirement in order to log them as finds (for example: If you can stand at 1200', viewing a mountain peak with a 13,000' elevation to qualify for an EC, this EC would *NOT* qualify for this challenge. However if you must climb/drive/crawl/hot air balloon up that same 13,000 peak to qualify for the EC, then it would also qualify for this challenge.). If any of these requirements are confusing, then just find a Traditional cache above one mile elevation and you're good to go.
It does not matter at what point in your geo-career that you found the qualifying cache, I will use the elevation displayed on Google Earth to make my determinations of elevation, if needed.
When seeking the final, you are looking for a small silver screw-top metal tube, about 3" in length. The D/T combination posted above relates more to the qualification you must meet, not the final cache location, which is closer to 1.5/2. This area is not handicap accessible. If this is a complication for you, please email me through GC.com and an exception may be made. When you post your log here, please list the qualifying cache name, GC#, elevation, and date found. Photos from your adventures are encouraged, but not required.
There are no caches in Indiana that qualify for this challenge. However, if you have traveled a bit you may be surprised to find you already qualify. While cruising Route 66 back in 2009, we qualified by finding GC1AH50 at 7245 ft!
Happy travels!
