This is an underwater cache. You will need to take a ferry to an island, secure transportation, find the launch spot, and wade out into Lake Erie, so be prepared and watch for bad weather out of the east! PLEASE WEAR SANDALS OR WATERSHOES OF SOME SORT - CAN BE VERY SLIPPERY!!!
On Kelleys Island, in Lake Erie, you will need to get to a spot very far east where a public road dead ends. The cache is located underwater, within 30' of shore. You will get wet. Waders are recommended in cold weather (like 4/1/07 when re-placed - brr). The cache is a small waterproof container attached to rocks underwater. Do not try to lift cache without lifting the whole base. You can bring to shore, but note your spot to replace. There are small treasures and a log book. Keep me dry and secure to my anchor!!! There are very few successful underwater cache's and this one will work if you are careful! All pictures are welcome! Watch for muggles and curious neighbors/tourists. Note - there is a new development just South of Woodford near this location, however: 1) The beach at end of Woodford (width of the street) is public property, and 2) in Ohio, all submerged land in Lake Erie is public property - no-one owns the last foot of the beach. You do not need to tresspass, but just in case asked, you know the law! One final note after reading log - for those of you unfamiliar with Kelleys rocky shoreline - PLEASE WEAR SANDALS OR WATERSHOES OF SOME SORT - CAN BE VERY SLIPPERY!!! Thanks! Cwaff
