Geocache Description:

Cache is placed right next to an old mill race. The three homes you can see from the cache site were once part of a working grist mill operation. The closest home was once the mill owner’s home. Across the street was the mill operator’s home and the home with the mill stone out front is the old Hartsville Mill. The mill was first built in 1783 and rebuilt in 1861. Notice the "S" end pieces of the steel rods that run through the floors from both directions to strengthen the walls when loaded with the incredible weight of corn and grain. You are looking for a small log-only waterproof container. Bring your own pen. Special thanks to GeoScout05 for agreeing to maintain the cache. While you are in the area, get the Moland House Cache right up the road.
