A Walk in the Park
In Iowa, United States
How Geocaching Works
Welcome to the West Union Recreation Complex. Using a few clues from items in the park you will be able to get the final coordinates to this micro cache. You are looking for a camo bison tube.
To get the final coordinates you need to solve a puzzle where every answer is a number from 0 to 9.
For part 1, start at the entrance of the park (reference point 1) and use the stone sign for the next three questions:
A = number of children in the statue plus 2
B = last digit of when the park was initiated minus 3
C = when the park will be completed (letters) plus 2
For part 2, pick any paved trail that heads North and you will find a bridge over a lake (reference point 2). Stand where the roof is over your head for the next three questions:
X = number of large posts (and sides to the geometric shape) holding the roof of this structure plus 1
Y = number of small vertical balusters on the 2 large sides (facing water) of this structure minus 4
Z = number of small vertical balusters on the 4 short sides (diagonal sides) of this structure plus 1
Solve for N 42 58.ABC W 091 47.XYZ
Please be respectful of nature when caching at the West Union Recreation Complex. No caches in the park will require bushwacking or the creation of cacher trails through natural planting areas.
The West Union Recreation Complex is a beautiful 40 acre park on the North side of West Union that contains a playground, tennis courts (soon), basketball courts (soon), ball diamonds, soccer fields, horseshoes (soon), a concession building, fishing ponds, and a couple miles of paved walking trails.
