This site brings you to another form of "terrabuilding" with volcanism. Coming to the location you can discover a nice little valley in the midst of all the lava rocks and mountains.
What happened?
When lava runs down a slope, its sides solidify, while the center remains molten and fluid. If the supply of magma stops, the lava flows on, leaving the channel empty.

- 1. Which was the event creating Roques Blancos? (This is not the name of the lava Channel!!)
- 2. Estimate the depth and width of the valley in front of you.

An dieser Stelle seht ihr eine weitere Form von "Landgestaltung" durch Vulkanismus. Wenn ihr zu dieser Location kommt, könnt ihr ein nettes kleines Tal mitten in den ganzen Lavasteinen und -bergen entdecken.
Was ist passiert?
Wenn Lava einen Hang hinuter fließt, erstarrt die Masse an den Seiten, während sie im Zentrum geschmolzen und flüssig bleibt. Wenn der Nachschub an Magma stoppt, fließt die Lava noch weiter und hinterlässt den leeren Kanal.

Qué ha pasado?
Cuando un río de lava baja por la ladera de la montaña, empieza primero a enfriarse y petrificarse por los lados, mientras que la lava sigue fluyendo en el medio. Si deja de salir lava, la masa sigue fluyendo en el medio y deja un canal vacío.
