Come join us and help clean up the Indiana Dunes State Park. Most of the state parks are becoming very Geocaching friendly, and this is our chance for a little payback.

So come on out Sunday morning at 10:30, grab a donut, some coffee, a trash bag and help us clean up a beautiful park. There might be a project to do, more information to follow. So make sure you check this page before you head out to see what project Brad might have for us.

Within the boundaries of the Indiana Dunes State Park one can find lake, beach, foredunes, dune forests, dune swamps, prairie, and savanna habitat.

Visitors to the park can enjoy swimming, camping, hiking, biking, birding, star gazing, a full service Nature Center, and of course geocaching!

The area around the main beach is handicapped-accessible, with concrete pads offering good views of the lake

The park's Nature Center keeps an all-terrain wheelchair available for free use with a drivers license deposit. the parks wheelchair opens up most of the park for the disabled visitor.

There is a fee to get in the park.
Daily Non-resident weekend $10.00 per day.
Daily resident weekend $5.00 per day.
Annual Non-resident $46.00.
Annual resident $36.00.
Annual entrance passes get you into every Indiana State Park and Reservoir until Dec. 31, 2010.

For those that are day tripping, you can email the park naturalist Brad Bumgardner at bbumgardner@dnr.in.gov. Give him you full name along with your caching name, and he can waive the entrance fee.

So come on out, help us help out the park that does ALOT for geocachers. Bring your gloves, water, and trash bags will be provided.

There are also two other events going on this weekend at the Dunes. Check out the Friday night social, and the Indiana State Parks Cacher's Campout pages.

Hope to see ya all there
