An interesting culvert on Little Scovil Lake, in Northwestern
Ontario.
This is a culvert on Little Scovil Lake that allows water to flow
under a built-up section of the Canadian Pacific Railway. I thought
it was interesting enough to warrant a cache.
Note that there is no need climb the
embankment to access the cache!
You can actually touch the cache and the culvert at the same time.
(Psssst! This is a hint!)
Cache should be winter friendly (if you can get here!), but
might require moving some snow.
While it may be possible to complete this cache in a day, it makes
for a nice weekend canoe trip. The cache is about a 2-3 hour paddle
from the access to Chadwick Lake, including two short (300 metre
and 70 metre) portages. The "Like
a Troubled Bridge Over Water" cache makes a nice side trip.
NOTE
This cache is extremely remote, and intended for experienced
wilderness campers only. Do not attempt it alone, and make sure
others know where you are going and when you are expected back.
There is currently no cell service at any point on the
route. |
