Geocache Description:

A plastic jar wrapped in brown tape. May not be winter friendly due to snowfall amounts. Bring your own pencil, just in case.

In 2013, The WI DNR added this loop to the Crystal Lake Campground. It provides a way for cyclists to circle the campground without bothering campers, and also for camper to have easy access to this famous trail system.

All funding for the trail and all construction was handled by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. They have been strong advocates and supporters of the trail system, which has grown from a simple 3.5 mile paved trail, built over 20 years ago, to a widely used and loved system of many miles that links towns, campgrounds, lakes, and points of interest.

This placement is in salute of this partnership.

If you hike in or ride your bicycle in, you will need to pay no fee. Come by car / truck, and you will need to pay a daily fee, or use your annual sticker. Both can be obtained here.

Enjoy some of the best swimming, picnic areas, and camping in Northern Wisconsin at this facility.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Sonja Margitan at Trout Lake Headquarters of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. Geocache information and forms at:
