Geocache Description:

A couple of months have passed since the "Crime of the Century," better known as TC2004, when the North Texas Gang headed south to steal our beloved championship trophy. We've finally cooled down enough to return to the scene of the crime (Huntsville State Park) to begin hatching devious plans to bring the trophy home next year.

The listed coordinates should get you near the screened shelter section. We probably won't know the shelter number until we arrive Friday, but it shouldn't be too hard to track us down. Look for a silver Toyota Matrix, a gray Ford Ranger with Colorado plates, and a green L.L. Bean tent. Our tentative plans are to arrive mid-afternoonish on Friday to set up camp.

Unless you have a Texas Parks Pass, a day use fee of $3.00 per person will apply. Be sure to let the rangers know that you're a geocacher, and remind them of how much we have enjoyed their park. Those not planning on camping will need to leave before the gates are closed at 10PM. If you can't make it Friday night, drop by when the gates open at 7:30AM Saturday morning.

In addition to plannin' and schemin' activities, we may try to find some of the "allegedly hidden tokens" that got missed before. Supper will probably be a "bring your own" affair, unless folks want to turn it into a regular potluck supper. After dark we'll probably arrange another group run to Ringtailed Peepers (GCHVT8), so bring a flashlight.

On Saturday morning we'll begin our mass assault on the Four Cache Loop (GCD100). We'll arrive at the trailhead (N30° 38.769 W095° 25.396) at 9AM to begin the long hike. Anyone who wants to join us can meet us there. Be sure to bring a couple gallons of water.

There will likely be several spouses and children who won't make the hike. Those folks will hold down the fort at the screened shelter and enjoy some more socializing.

We'll post additional information as things develop. If you can attend all or part of the event, please post a note ASAP so we can know how many to expect.
