St. Feriole Island Gardens
In Wisconsin, United States
How Geocaching Works
You are now standing in the beautiful and growing St, Feriole Island Gardens. Situated just a short walk from the Mississippi River, the Villa Louis, and historic downtown Prairie du Chien; these gardens act as a living legacy within the area’s natural beauty. These gardens were started thru donations as a memorial to family members and loved ones of local residents, and continue to grow with each passing year. The park is used year round for pictures, island events, and even a wedding.
You can wander around this area and enjoy the different plants, shrubs, and flowers grown by hard working volunteers. There is a children’s garden that includes a boat converted into a sandbox, a hollow tree & tea party right out of Alice in Wonderland, and even a little gnome’s home that may hide more traditional goodies. The shade gardens include a beautiful gazebo and flower shrugs. There are brick walkways, a fire pit, and different rock, fence, and planter formations throughout. Plans include a Grand Lawn, limestone waterfalls, and even a river walk for the future as the years come along.
You are looking for a camouflage taped coffee jug. There is no need to walk into or on top any planted area of the gardens, so please be respectful of what grows here. During some of the bigger events on the island, obtaining this cache is nearly impossible; and muggle activity can be frequent & often – so the difficutly is listed a little higher than it one normally would. The cache was placed with the approval (and encouragement) of St Feriole Island Gardens Committee Members. Further information on the gardens can be obtained by sending a message from the profile link above.
