Geocache Description:

Your Spring “Must Attend” Event is back again in 2012. This is the 7th year for this event!

Active caches from 2011

8:30am- 10am Breakfast

Big Boy Restaurant, corner of E. Jefferson at E. Grand Blvd across from Belle Isle.

Each year we have a chance for a FTF raffle, it is back this year again!
This does not guarantee a FTF but gives you a 15 minute head start on the rest of the gang.
The raffle will start near about 10:00.

All cachers, raffle winners or not, will meet at the picnic shelter near Aquarium
@ N42 20.225 W082 59.175

Near about 10:20 we will be handing out the new 2012 cache list and loading everyone’s GPS units.
We will have cords for all USB loaded GPS units. If you need a serial port or memory card load, please bring your own computer and thumb drive for us to transfer the files to your computer and you can load it to your GPS or cell phone.

Be sure to log into Belle Isle Pot Luck 2012. Belle Isle in the spring generally means
Bring Your Boots!!!

The map above shows all of the caches from 2011, they will be active for the event with an additional 40 to 45 new caches that will be published after this day is done and the old caches archived.
The map shows a blue star for the picnic shelter and restrooms. The red stars are for restroom locations. The yellow stars in the squares are Earthcaches.

Child waypoints will load restroom locations, the locations can be found at:
N42 20.085 W082 59.730 @ The Casino from 7am -3pm
N42 20.825 W082 57.825 @ The Nature Center from 10am-4pm

Dusk will be the end to a great day!

Belle Isle is truly one of Detroit’s gems.
Spring is a great time to cache the island, less muggles, and cooler temps.
