Katsuren-jo is the castle ruins commanding a beautiful panoramic view on the Katsuren Peninsula of Okinawa

Make sure you read the history and climb all the way to the top sometime during your visit. From the highest of the five enclosures, you’ll see to the north far-off mountains of the Yambaru area surrounding Kin Bay and the islands dotting the Pacific Ocean. To the south you’ll see Chinen Peninsula, Nakagusuku Bay and Nakagusuku-jo, the castle of Gosmaru. This particular castle was the residence of Amawari, a feudal lord who resisted to the end the monarch of the Ryukyu Kingdom. The area is a popular tourist attraction, so be careful for muggles. The small Tupperware container is placed specifically to prevent easy discovery by those muggles on holiday and the muggle-workers repairing the castle and surrounding area. Still, be sneaky. FTF gets a special un-activated Japan Geocoin. Initial cache contents include: 10 plastic ninja warriors to guard the cache, a couple of carabiners, and various USMC uniform insignia. This is our first hide. Enjoy the view and the history....Flipper

CONGRATS TO "THE PAINTERS" THE FTF !!!

What an awesome place for a cache! Lots of muggles on the front side of the castle, but kudos to the owner for hiding it in a more discrete location. Even on high muggle days you shouldn't have a problem with this one.

Took: Mini Harmonica
Left: Land Between the Lakes TB

Spoiler: It's all in the clue, and you'll need to remove dead leaves for the find.

Very nice and windy up top today. I was relieved because of the heat.
