This is one of the two trails connecting the Sycamore Canyon Fire Road and the Overlook Fire Road.

There are only a couple of trails that take you from the fire road in the canyon up to the fire road up on the ridge. This one that mountain bikes are allowed on. It has a couple of unexpected area of dense brush that overhang the trail.

On the downhill and getting near turnaround, coming down fromSimple Cache Beside the Trail. Not a busy bike day but saw several, all courteous and riding in control, thanks guys and gal! Despite the hot sun, the weather along the ridge was quite pleasant -- a good sea breeze bring cool air up the canyon. Quick find, but the paint is peeling, making it more visible. I took a bit of hot pink swag that was showing through. Also left a new pen for the log. Then down to 180-Degree Canyon View.

When I got close to GZ a mountain biker passed me, otherwise not much traffic on this trail. It deserves more. TFTC

Not the first place I looked. I was headed uphill to La Jolla Canyon this morning. Nice cloud cover. Cheers.

I found this cache while participating in the 2009 Backbone Trail Trek (visit link) a seven day hike from Pt. Mugu State Park to Will Rogers State Park.

This trail is officially part of the Backbone Trail. When I got to my GPSr's GZ, there was a hiding spot that matched the hint, but no cache. Then I noticed another place about 20 feet away that also matched, and I found it there. There was also a LARGE, bright-green caterpillar crawling on a branch above the cache.

TFTC.

Found this on a MTB loop up Guadalasca and down Backbone. I usually don't stop while screaming down this trail. It was nice to check out the view for once. TFTC.
