Enjoy exploring the wind caves along this stretch of the Backbone
trail and this cache is a bonus.
The cache was moved from near vicinity of the caves due to highly
destructive Muggle activity near the original hide. Now on the
other side of the tracks, off on an animal spur.
1/15/08 Cache replaced and moved due to truly bad Muggle
behavior.
It was burned during the Coral Fire which began on Thanksgivings
day at about 3:23 in the morning. Before it was contained, it had
burned nearly 5,000 acres, destroyed 53 homes and 27 out buildings,
destroyed 37 vehicles and damaged another 43 homes, with an
estimated lost of at least $100 million and a cost of response of
over $4,000,000.(not including the cache)
The area now will only support a small container, but I
encourage to come for this cache anyways,to view not only the
aftermath of the fire, but witness nature as she attempts to
heal.
