Geocache Description:

This is a Multi-Virtual Geocache at Downtown Disney (DD), which is part of the Disneyland Resort complex in Anaheim, California. NO PARK ADMISSION REQUIRED FOR THIS VIRTUAL CACHE!

As VIRTUAL GEOCACHES are becoming less common (new ones no longer allowed), I must explain in clear words:
YOU MUST PROVIDE ANSWERS TO ME BY EMAIL, AND RECEIVE APPROVAL BEFORE LOGGING THIS CACHE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS WILL RESULT IN YOUR LOG BEING DELETED WITH NO WARNING.

If you are not familiar with the area, it lies more or less in between the Disneyland Hotel and the two parks (Disneyland and Disney California Adventure). Download and check out the "DD MAP" below, which shows the area we consider part of DD; it includes the hotel areas also. At N33°48.73', W117°55.49', FREE parking is available for 2 hours for EACH ENTRY (many restaurants & shops validate for longer times). Follow the signs for Downtown Disney parking, off Disney Way, west of the park. If it gets full there, they might send you further south, on the other side of DD. If you want to spend more time, or visit one or both parks, then use the multi-story parking structure (all day, in/out OK, price posted there). You can even valet park, if you really want (not free!).

The main cache coordinates are not significant; just look at the coordinates of each clue below. The clue answers are (hopefully!) permanently placed letters or numbers, or things you have to count. Nothing is hidden anywhere. There are some "brain benders" and possibly tricky questions. Think before you write down that answer! Don't expect the clue answers you are writing down to spell anything, but you must EMAIL your answers (letters & numbers) to us through this website for verification, or assistance, or hints. You MUST wait for our email confirmation before logging a find. Finds logged before we receive correct answers WILL be deleted. Remember, a wrong letter or number and you will need to keep trying (hints given if necessary).

Have fun! Please respect the hotel areas (and guests), and feel free to patronize the merchants!

The same waypoint data is contained in a GSAK (.gpx) file, which I can email to you on request. You can use the file in GSAK (link to get it is elsewhere on this website), so you won't have to hand-enter the coords. As always, buildings & trees can be a problem. Try to point your antenna toward open sky, and if necessary, get a good direction & distance to the waypoint while standing in a more open area, and go to the point indicated that way.

Warm-up clue (not part of the password): If you parked in the multi-story structure, this is right on your way:

1. Under Construction! Maybe another warm up nearby in the future....

Now the real clues start:

2. N33° 48.566', W117° 55.635'
Go to this location. Face the hotel Now turn right and walk about 20 feet; now turn left and walk through the doors inside; now go straight for approximately 50 feet inside the building; now turn to your left. There you will find a huge display case filled with Disney memorabilia. Now find the BROKEN 45 RPM record. What side is displayed?
Note: Anyone remember the HUGE Mickey that used to be here (at the above coords)?

3. N33° 48.463', W117° 55.614'
Large sign here, for a large building. There's a boat on it. What is the name of the boat? 1st word, 1st letter.

4. N33° 48.510', W117° 55.613'
Disney's version of a bridge to nowhere. Stand here, look Southeast (towards DCA). Yummy place to eat there. 1st letter of both words of the restaurant's name.

5. N33° 48.309', W117° 55.541'
This mighty jungle prince is guarding this area. The letter on this section sign.

6. N33° 48.365', W117° 55.452'
Count the bronze suns on the entire front façade of this building. Divide the number of suns by two to get the answer to this clue.

7. N33° 48.472', W117° 55.393'
It would have been GRAND to have arrived here in this classic vehicle, built in the year ______. (Use the last digit). Try not to look suspicious here. Taking some pictures of the subject vehicle is good cover.
[If the above vehicle is not evident (in use?), count the bears on ALL sides of the ceramic mosaic tile mural on a large post, near the entrance. Subtract 3 from the number of bears, to get the above last number of the answer above]

8. N33° 48.448', W117° 55.355'
You're in the back garden and patio. On the patio are cozy rockers and a huge fireplace. What is the number of tools to the right of the fireplace? Now, you can go inside the lobby and visit the twin fireplace, and enjoy the lobby.

9. N33° 48.525', W117° 55.273'
Flying above is a very unusual flying machine with a very famous couple. 4th letter in the first name of the one who is waving to you.

10. N33° 48.534', W117° 55.136'
Stand about here, look towards DCA, and line yourself up directly in front of the big "D" over the DCA entrance. In 2015, it also has a diamond in front of it (for the Disneyland 60th Anniversary). What letter is just to the LEFT of the center big "D"?

11. N33° 48.584', W117° 55.094'
Get your stroller near here. You can also leave a four legged "family member" here, for a price (to the right of the stroller place). 1st letter of the 2nd word of this "club".

12. N33° 48.576', W117° 55.138'
This Disneyland classic mass transit system is at what elevation? 3rd digit.

13. N33° 48.571', W117° 55.205'
This location is accessed from OUTSIDE the WEST security area. Walk left toward the NORTH tram loading area. Look for the picnic area sign. Here's where you leave your cooler for your picnic! Far top right "storage" place. Last digit of it's number.
[Note: NOT accessible from INSIDE security!]

14. N33° 48.539', W117° 55.358'
Klemmer's finds his favorite not so diet-ish snack here. Additional clue: Klemmer is very lactose intolerant! No milk products for him. Chocolate and ice cream have a lot of milk in them, right? 5th letter of 2nd word of the name.

15. N33° 48.549', W117° 55.387'
Next is TeddyBearMama's hangout! Surprise, surprise !! Number of 3D critters stacked on the "spool of thread" above the door.

16. Reserved. Construction killed this one.

17. N33° 48.549', W 117° 55.495'
Number of 3D critters on the building marquee.

18. N33° 48.566', W117° 55.511'
Search the BACK of the high tower for the 3D feathered friend hiding there. (We consider the restaurant's main entrance as the front). LAST letter of this colorful tropical bird.

19. N33° 48.527', W117° 55.526'
Reserved for a future clue. No answer needed at present.

20. N33° 48.518', W117° 55.531'
Bonus / extra credit clue for Disneyland Oldtimers (not part of the required answers, but it will offset a mistake in the required answers!):
"What used to be at this location prior to all the changes during the construction of Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney?"
(Yes, you may get a point inside a building, as this lat/long was taken in part off historic aerial & topo maps). P.S. It was NOT the parking lot here; and I mean quite a while before the present buildings / businesses.
