Important: Sometimes the levada is under construction and the cache can not be reached or the terrain will change to 4!...When the levada is under construction, go there on the weekend when the levada-workers don´t work...
This is a very easy levada-walk up in the mountains with fantastic views! Go to "encumeada" by car or by bus and start the walk at the "encumeada-snackbar" at N 32.45.252, W 17.01.165. On the other side of the road follow the sign "Folhadal". The levada is very easy to walk, and when you arrive early, you will have spectacular views on the highest mountains! Beside the Levada there are plenty of floweers and other plants.
After 1/4 hour walk you will reach a tunnel on the right side. Follow the levada to the cache on the left Levada. (If you like, you can go through the tunnel and then reach a small waterfall). When reached the cache you can follow the levada for some more kilometers (way is becoming more difficult) or return to the parking-place. Although this is an easy walk remember that you are walking in the mountains, where the weather can change quickly!
