The Muppet Show, a half-hour long musical comedy variety show, aired on TV from 1976-1981. The action in each episode included onstage acts and frantic backstage activity among emcee Kermit the Frog, his Muppet friends and a live celebrity. The creation of puppeteer Jim Henson, The Muppet Show introduced us to many endearing characters, many of whom are being celebrated with caches in and around the Whitnall Park/Root River Parkway area.
Floyd Pepper
This mustachioed hip bass man has “a room for life at the home for the chronically groovy!" Floyd's costume and last name are a reference to the Beatles' album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Floyd regularly appeared backstage and interacted with characters outside of The Electric Mayhem. He is often considered to be Animal's caretaker.
