Idaho Geocachers

On August 22, 1962 a B-47 Bomber was on a training flight from it's home base at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson to a site near Emmett when one of it's six engines caught fire and lost altitude. The plane then crashed into a mountain south of Packer John Lookout and exploded, and some of the flaming debris started a fire that burned about 5 acres. The three crewmen aboard, aircraft commander Lt. Col. Raymond N. McDonald 40 of Eldorado, TX, co-pilot Capt. William C Lebbs 30 of Omaha, NB, and navigator Maj. Glen A. McClure 38 of Waverly, IA, were all killed. This team was considered one of the best bombing teams of Strategic Air Command.
