Geocache Description:

This is a challenging course as there are a number of loops and trails to follow. Careful attention has to be paid as to the start of the trail and the eventual return to the start of the trek. In the summer the trails are dry and the fastest way to reach the area is by bike (about 15 minutes) Trail maps are available at the store or lodge.

Winter & summer starting co-ordinates at the "RED BAY LODGE" Entrance
North..44° 48.460
West...81° 17.040

...Stop at their front office for a 'NORTH RANKING TRAIL MAP'.... The start of the trail from here is at the right side of their 'Tennis Court' Follow the trails and use the trail map towards the location of the cache.

Or during "Open Hours" stop in at the 'Red Bay Tent and Trailer Park' office and ask for directions. While there, try one of their delicious ice-cream flavours before starting on your trek.

West...81° 16.972

  • This is not an easy run and grab cache!!! The hardest part is to drag yourself up the steep sandy hill to the location of the 'Geodetic Survey Marker' at the end of your hike. This is the reason for the higher difficulty rating
NOTE:This is on private property, but permission has been granted by the owners. The cache is located about 14 mtrs W-S-W of the 'Survey Marker' under a tree just off the trail wrapped in a brown garbage bag and covered with leaves.

...For the first to find ....>

  • ...There are tickets for a family of '4' for a game of mini golf at the 'Red Bay Camp and Trailer Park'
Link to RED BAY CAMP for more information.
  • ...a mini kite
    ...'Cito' trash out bag

    • ..... PLEASE TAKE ONLY ONE ITEM FOR THE FIRST TO FIND AND LEAVE THE OTHERS TO FUTURE CACHERS AS AN INCENTIVE. See photo below.

A larger view from the "Look-out" towards Lake Huron and the "Fishing Islands"

    • The cache is behind this tree.....................Evening view from the look-out.

For the look-out to Lake Huron and the Fishing Islands follow the trail west about 130 metres where you will find an open area and a tree to climb for a better view.

Also pay a "VISIT" to this Geodetic Survey Marker Waymark .
