The north one acre of the south portion of the cemetery at one time belonged to the Methodist Episcopel Church, they having purchased it from Jacob Ashcraft in Febuary, 1854. In July,1865, the Church sold this acre to Robert DeArmond. This cemetery, located in Ollie, Iowa, apparently was first known as the DeArmond and later as the Ollie Cemetery. Some persons designate the part north of the road as the DeArmond and the part south of the road as the Ollie; however Robert DeArmond at one time owned the real estate south of the road. At the present time, the cemetery usually is referred to as the Ollie Cemetery.
