The cache is not at the provided coordinate.

Instead this will take you to the first stage of our "Twilight" tour.

The book Twilight was originally published in 2005 and has been followed by 3 additional books, all having been on the New York Times Bestseller List. The series enjoys a huge fan following.

The primary setting for this series is Forks, Washington. It a story of forbidden love between the two main characters Bella Swan, a teenage girl and Edward Cullen, a 107 yr old vampire, now forever stuck in an 17 yr old’s body. Forks being one of the rainiest spots in the United States is the chosen location since the vampires have an aversion to sunlight.

A popular movie based on the book was released in November 2008.

This cache will take you on a tour of many sites mentioned in the book. The fan following from this book’s release has caused a huge influx in tourism in this quiet town, known formerly mainly for logging.

N 47 56.203 W 124 23.636

One of the two main characters, Bella Swan is given a truck like this from her father upon arriving into Forks to live with him. Her father bought it from family friends, the Blacks. The Blacks are Quileute Indian, who according to the story are descended from wolves, and Bella’s friend Jacob Black plays a large part in this story.

When you have found Bella’s truck, head around to the back of it. There are four bolts holding on the trailer hitch. Each of these bolts has a number on it. Find the number from one bolt only and add each digit together. Then divide this number by 2. This number will equal (A)

N 47 56.482 W 124 23.857

This is Charlie and Bella Swan’s home.

Charlie Swan is the town Police Chief. Bella has never lived with her father other than visiting for a week or two here and there. Her bedroom is the one on the upper floor, and she spends many nights in there talking to Edward.

This is a private residence and the owners do not mind visitors taking pictures of their home, but ask people to not knock on the door or come onto their property. You don’t need to enter the property to collect the information that you need.

At this location, you are simply looking for the house number. It is easily spotted from the street and is also painted on the mailbox. Use the last number and add 1. This new number will be (B).

N 47 56.759 W 124 23.603

This waypoint brings you to the Forks Hospital. This is where Bella was taken when Edward saves her life in the parking lot of the High School. This is where Bella starts to realize there is something different about Edward.

Edward’s father, Carlisle Cullen is a surgeon and works at this hospital. The coordinate takes you to the parking spot reserved just for him. If you are looking right at the reserved parking sign, to your left will be an electrical box. On this box is a 5 digit number ending in 7. You are looking for the first number in this set. This number will be (C).

N 47 56.888 W 124 23.054

You are now in front of Forks High School.

This is an active public school and may be in session during your visit. There is no need to enter school grounds to get the information needed. The school staff is used to people taking pictures with the building here, so that should still be okay.

Bella and Edward both attend this high school together and it is here that they first meet in Biology class even though Edward appears to be repulsed by Bella at first.

If it was a Wednesday afternoon at 3pm, it would be fine to park right here in front of the school at the given coordinates but not for long. How long would you be allowed to park here? This will be the number you are looking for. Take this number and add both the digits together, and then add 5. This number will be (D)

N 47 56.968 W 124 22.753

This stop takes you to the Forks Police Department. Like many small towns, the Police Department is located adjoined to City Hall. Since Bella’s father Charlie Swan is the Chief of Police, he spends a large amount of his time here.

If you are at the listed coordinates, you will be standing where the police cars are parked when here at the station. On each of these cars is a city emblem. The emblem says “police” on the top and “City of Forks” on the bottom. Between those, there is a year shown. This is what you are looking for. You will take the last two numbers of this 4 digit number. Add 7 to your number and it will now equal (EF)

While we can not guarantee the police cars are here ALL the time, there were a couple other city vehicles parked nearby that also had this emblem on it. Alternately, if you speed through Forks, one of the cars would surely find you although we certainly don’t recommend this costly approach.

N 47 57.000 W 124 22.651

You are now in front of the Cullen family home. This would have been home to Edward, his parents Carlisle and Esme, his brothers Jasper and Emmett, and sisters Alice and Rosalie, all vampires.

If you have seen the movie, you will realize this looks nothing like the home in the movie, but instead it looks very much like the description of the house in the book.

This is now a Bed and Breakfast, and the owners are fine with Twilight fans coming up onto the porch and taking pictures, but ask people to please not knock on the door or enter the building unless you are a guest staying for the night.

You will find on the front porch, a white board updated daily, by Esme, with what the Cullen family is doing today. You may also see Edward peeking out the front window.

When you are standing in front of the home, you will see steps leading up to the porch. You will need to count these steps (including the top step) – this is the number you are looking for. Take this number and subract 1. This number will now be (G).

N 47 54.790 W 124 32.031

You will soon be entering Quileute land. Part of the struggle in this book is the fact that Bella is good friends with both Edward and Jacob Black, while the two boys are actually not friends at all. Jacob lives here on the Quileute Reservation.

There is a long standing agreement between the Quileute Tribe and the vampires. The vampires are not allowed on Quileute land.

The location of this fun sign is just a couple of miles from where Quileute land begins.

While you are standing and looking at this sign pictured at the coordinates provided, you will notice that there is a row of cabins directly to your right that run parallel to the road. How many cabins are in this row only? Use this number and add 1. That number will now become (H)

N 47 54.393 W 124 38.119

This coordinate brings you to a rugged stretch of the Washington coast at First Beach. This where Bella first speaks with Jacob Black to ask him questions about Edward and some of his odd behavior. Jacob gives Bella enough information to help her find her answer about who Edward really is.

There are 2 signs on a pole at the provided coordinate. How many times does the letter A appear on the top sign only. Multiply this number by 4 and the number will equal (I).

N 47 54.483 W 124 38.411

You are now in La Push, Washington in the heart of Quileute land. This is the town where Jacob Black lives. Bella comes here quite often to visit him, as he is a very good friend of hers. You won’t find any vampires around here for sure.

The biggest island you see from this coordinate is called James Island. Until the second half of the 1800s, the island was the site of a fortified village. After this, it was used as a site for growing crops for residents of the mainland, as well as a burial site for tribal chiefs. At 160 feet (49 m) in height, the island was also used as a lookout for spotting whales. The island was formerly a sea stack, connected to the mainland, until the US Army Corps of Engineers rerouted the Quillayute River, separating it. Today, the US Coast Guard operates a lighthouse and foghorn for boats coming into the harbor.

While enjoying the view here, you will see wires running over the water out to James Island. There are orange balls on these wires. How many of these balls are out over the water? This will be (J)

You have now collected all information that you need to find the final location. You are looking for the 30 caliber ammo can pictured above. In the Twilight books Edward took Bella to the tops of the biggest trees in the forest to talk since he could be himself when they were alone there. The tree next to the final cache location would probably have been a tree that Edward and Bella liked.

To find the location, solve the puzzle below with the information you collected. Please REHIDE THE CACHE WELL in order to keep things away from the eyes of muggles.

Drove up from Seattle to Port Washington and then Forks, to do the Twilight cache. My husband and I are from Florida and he surprised me with this trip...our first time in Washington. This multi-cache was a blast, taking pictures at every stop. The final location was found as it was getting dark and thankfully, with the assistance of a pocket flashlight, we were successful, Great hide. Thank you.

Neat cache. Me and my wife have both read the books and seen the movies. This was a fun way to spend the afternoon, driving around, finding the clues, and zooming in on the cache. Great find.

TNLN.

Thanks!

Well it was an adventure!
We came all the way from Austin, TX to Seattle for the weekend. I talked my husband into driving a loop around the National Forest on the 101.
I told them i needed to do this ONE CACHE in Forks, WA called the Twilight cache. I didn't tell him till we got there that it was a 10-stage Multi cache!

So we took the scenic route of course, stopping at the park headquarters in Port Angeles, then walking out to Marymere Falls. Then we saw on the map
how close we would be to the farthest NW corner of the continental US, so of course we had to go to CAPE FLATTERY. While we were there, we toured the museum.

Then we drove back out to the 101 to head to Forks. It was getting dark FAST!!!! It was about 4:20 when we began the first cache at Bella's truck. We have pictures in many of the locations!
1. truck - done
2. swan home - done
3. hospital - done - OMG, its already getting dark
4. highschool - done - sun is going down fast
5. police dept - done - Twilight hits
6. cullen home - done - almost dark
7. no vampires sign - done - It's NOW DARK
8. First Beach - done IN THE DARK
9. La Push - done IN THE DARK
It is now ONLY 5:45pm and we are back in Forks. We decided to take a caching break and go shopping at the Twilight Store (since it closes at 6:00pm) We shop till we drop! Well I do anyway. We talk to the shop owner and ask her if she has ever met any of the Twilight cast. She tells us how up until a month before filming they were getting all set up and then right before filming (the Governor of Washington) did something or didn't do something and so the the movie WASN'T even filmed in FORKS!!!!
OUCH that HURT!!!! I didn't know that, so I was more than a little disappointed, boo hoo!!! ; (
By now we were pretty hungry, as we hadn't had lunch while driving either. Since we figured it couldn't really get any darker, we stopped at the FORKS DINER where Bella and her dad Charlie (would have eaten) - had Twilight been filmed here.
10. FINAL - We think we had it all correct, it seemed logical, but there is no way we could find a trail IN. We were 200 feet away, even got to 170 feet and just couldn't see a way through the forest in the dark without a trail.

I decided that I did most of the things I wanted to, I got to see the areas referenced in the books.
We gave up and finished our now Southerly trek back down the 101 to our hotel and flew home the next day!

We had a beautiful drive, nice visits everywhere and tons of fun in Forks!
Thanks for the cache!
