Geocache Description:

Magnetic key box located near the home of football - Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium. There are a few muggles around on saturday afternoons (although not as many as there used to be!)

Located close to the ground, had to relocate due to work in original location. A bit more out in the open so a very obvious clue.

Middlesbrough's Riverside stadium, capacity 35,100, was the first to be designed and built in compliance with the Taylor report.

It was opened on August 26th 1995 and the first goal was scored by Craig Hignett in a 2-0 win over Chelsea.

The ground has seen many unforgettable matches (and a number of forgettable ones!), including a 4-1 win over Manchester United, league cup semi-final wins over Arsenal and Liverpool and the amazing 4-3 aggregate wins over Basel and Steau Bucharest in the UEFA cup where on each occasion the Boro came back from 3 nil down.

Also worth a look are the original gates from Boro's old ground Ayresome Park and the Boro brick road (can you find ours ?) near the statues of George Hardwick and Wilf Mannion. These two played in the England and NI team in 1947 against the rest of the world. Boro were the only team to have 2 players in the team. Mannion scored 2 in the 6-1 win.

Cache contains some boro memorabilia, log book etc. It is small but could take small bugs and coins.

Visted so far by Boro, Portsmouth, Wigan and Southampton.

Come on Boro !
