This cache is named after a very large and very rare reptilian creature that is known to inhabit these parts. I suspect it was this very species I first encountered in a swampy area just southwest of here. There was recently a confirmed sighting northwest of here near the South Fork of the Iowa River.
I doubt you will have to worry about Malcomius Crocagatorus in this area, although you should always be cautious. If you do see him, the best thing you can do is remain perfectly still and avoid eye contact until it moves on.
