Common Pleas Courthouse & Courthouse Park - Completed in 1854, the Common Pleas Courthouse sits high atop a hill overlooking the historic downtown area. The grounds have played an important part in the city's history, from Indian council meetings to the Civil War. Dred Scott was housed in the courthouse jail at one time.
This is one of my favorite parks in Cape. The view from the park is beautiful and also gives you a good look at the Mississippi River. If you want to learn more about Cape Girardeau, visit the following link: http://rosecity.net/cape/downtown/Default.htm
The hint is a dead giveaway!
