The City of Airdrie in conjunction with Trout Unlimited would
like our help to clean up Nose Creek Park and participate/watch in
a fish shocking/tagging exercise.
You are advised to wear good sturdy footwear (something that can
get muddy). Volunteers are discouraged from getting in the water so
waders aren't necessary- we'll have some long implements to reach
in if we need to.
If you have work / gardening gloves that would be good but you
don't need to go buy anything. There will be some latex gloves to
keep the ookey stuff off your hands!
Other than that, the event continues rain or shine so whatever
you need for the weather is recommended!
There will be a BBQ afterwards.
As you can probably tell, I am letting the City of Airdrie do most
of the planning for this event, and there will be minimal
Geocaching activities afterwards. There will be a raffle during the
BBQ and it will be open to anyone in attendance (Geocachers and
muggles). Thanks to all who have donated prizes -
K5Cents and the Airdrie Hawks Junior Forest Wardens for a
wonderful "Ready-to-assemble geocache - regular size too!
PrairieSwan for a fantastic Dr.B's Cache Repair kit (not related to
the prize above!!)
TeamWalsh for an, as yet, undetermined, but awesome, prize!
Staples Airdrie for some equally as mysterious but awesome!!
Peanutbutterbreadandjam for scrambling to think of something to
throw into the mix - will make an executive decision tomorrow!!
After the BBQ, anyone who would like to do some group caching is
invited to car pool with friends or strangers for an unstructured
cache tour of Airdrie! From that point on, the event is over.
Please indicate your ability to attend by May 28th as the City of
Airdrie will need to know numbers for scheduling and BBQ reasons.
Thanks!
Parking is best at the lot shown on this aerial photograph:
