Snakes & Ladders Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Diehard50248: I had a good time putting together the puzzle aspect of this geocache. It hasn't gotten the traffic I was hoping it would, but I don't think true "puzzle caches" will ever attract the masses. Time to let this one go. Thanks for visiting!

Geocache Description:

This cache is not at the posted coordinates

I knew Chutes & Ladders was a classic board game that's been around since I was a kid, but I had no idea just how long it's been around!

Did you know...

Snakes and Ladders originated in 2nd century B.C. India as Paramapada Sopanam--"the ladder to salvation." It was invented by Hindu spiritual leaders to teach children about the rewards of good deeds and the negative consequences of bad ones. The snakes represent vices and poor decisions, and the ladders represent virtues and sound morality. The game first made its way to England in 1892, and was commercially sold in the United States in 1943 by Milton Bradley under the name "Chutes and Ladders".

So the next time you play "Chutes & Ladders" with the kids, impress them with the fact they are playing a game over 2000 years old!!!

Bring the kids...the cache container is chuck-full of Happy Meal toys!!!
