You can park in the main parking lot or the kayak/canoe parking lot. Please do not park on road side. Starting at the main parking look north at the beautiful river and our great boat launch. Schodack Island was originally opened in 2002. This is our tenth anniversary of the park being open. Many changes have been made to the park in ten years. It took some time and much clearing but now we even have vistas. Maybe you will hear a car as you are walking. You can sit on the tree stump and just watch the birds fly by. The items in the cache are park souvenirs and do not need to be replaced with a trade item.

Schodack Island State Park is open during the summer months from 7:00am to sunset and 7:00am to 4:30pm the rest of the year. There is a $6 entry fee into the park starting the middle of April on weekend and holidays only during the summer months until Columbus Day. The bathrooms are open year round and are heated in the winter. You can reach the park office at 518-732-0187 for more information.
