Located at Pinnacle Rock State Park in Mercer county, West Virginia
PARK AT THESE COORDINATES: n 37° 19.329 / w081° 17.414 It will make it easier than walking up the road from the normal parking area.

I placed this cache in a part of the park that doesnt get much traffic. There is no beaten trail to follow so pick a course suited to you. When you reach the rocks follow the big crack between them. This is the way I went to get there. The outcropping is high so be careful and watch where you step. As far as I know there is only one good way to reach the cache, as it is on top of the rocks. Look hard for it and dont step off the side. Hazards include the obvious falling threat, briers, and snakes.

The original contents include the following:
a Jeep matchbox car
2 mc donalds battle bots
bug repellant
a pencil sharpener from the Knoxville worlds fair
light stick
geocaching keychain compass
Knife
All american travel bug
and a dollar register on www.wheresgeorge.com

I have posted some pictures that may be useful to those who may have problems. Warning they are spoilers.

Really wanted to get this today, but got surprised by the ice and snow still remaining in the slot...guess we'll have to wait for better weather.

Found this one after work on Sat. I thought Iwould find "quick" on the way home from work. Glad I did'nt take the family. This cache gives a new meaning to the term "crack kills". Thanks for the view.

FINALLY, I got the smiley!!! I attempted this cache when I was just starting to geocache, and we were unaware of the placement location. We were unsuccesful, & I have always planned to retry this cache. I live nearby, in Bluefield, and my wife grew up VERY near this cache in a nearby hollow. Well, we finally got a break in the schedules & weather and went for it. We brought our kids & my niece with us. Well, long story short, only myself & my 16 year ols niece made it to the top. What a GREAT view!!!!! This view beats the view at the top of the Pinnacle Rock State Park outcrop in my opinion. My wife wants to come back again so she too can make the summit. Thanks for placing this great cache. This is one of my top three favorite caches so far, and this one happens to be my 250th logged find! We took the "Herpes Simplex Labialis" Geocoin to spread the virus. TFTC

I have been to a few caches with a friend, and have been driving past this one for over a year now. I finally decided this was the day. I guess I was wrong. I found the "crack" and started up, but my bum knee started acting up. Fearing that I wouldn't be able to get back down, or worse, come down rapidly, I decided this one will have to wait until I can drag some else along. Even though I didn't get all the way, there were still some great views and it definitely beats sittin' on the couch.

Thanks

I will be back.

Wow! Absolutely incredible! The rock opening took us forever to find, and by the time we located it, we were ripped to shreds by briers. Even as we climbed, we couldn't believe it was on top of the formation. As we emerged into the sunlight, we noticed two things immediately. First, that we were much higher than we expected, and second, the top was unbelievably narrow! I was fully expecting the cache to be right there at the opening, but after examining the GPS, I noticed that I still had about a 50 foot walk across the insanely narrow catwalk. My girlfriend, who is a horrible klutz, and I were so dedicated to finding the cache, that we braved the walk and were so relieved to find the container. Sadly, we forgot our camera, leaving us only with cell phone pictures. Such a hard climb, and I wouldn't recommend this for anyone taking children with them. Also, if you are afraid of heights, stay away! We left a Herpes Simplex Geocoin, for anyone worthy enough to make the climb.
