Geocache Description:

This is a multi-step cache with all the parts within walking distance from each other over a several mile trek. We would encourage you to take your time and enjoy the mostly paved and level walkways along the Seneca Lake shore. You could drive to all the parts, but you'll have to pay a fee to get into the Seneca Lake State Park. Only the final step involves a short bushwacking with bug spray a must.

There is plenty of free parking near the start of the cache hunt. We started at N42*51.884 W076*58.793 but you can park closer.

1. Start at N42*52.221 W076*58.582 Find Joyce Levey Clark memorial marker. Add the last two digits of her year of birth to the last two digits of her year of death. Add 607 to this total. This will give you the missing three digits of step two's coordinates.

2. N42*52.384 W076*57.XXX Subtract the depth of Seneca Lake at it's deepest spot (as shown on the information sign) from the last three digits of the newly found west coordinates. Add 841 to this number. This will give you the last three digits of step three's coordinates.

3. N42*52.392 W076*56.XXX Subtract 1335 from the date of Sullivan's expedition as found on the monument. This will give you the last three digits of step four's coordinates.

4. N42*52.108 W076*56.XXX This will bring you to a large blue sign. The word "Welcome" is written in a foreign language. Count the letters in the name of that particular language (not the letters in the word) Subtract 4 from that number. This will be the missing digit in the cache's final coordinates.

5. N42* 52.533 W076*57.5X5 The cache is a tupperware container hidden in an area where bushwacking and mosquito repellant is a must. Get your GPS bearings before bushwacking due to potential poor GPS coverage at the cache site.
