This is my first cache of many that I will place throughout the downtown Long Beach area.
Because of my Polish heritage, my strong patriotic spirit for the United States, and it being the Fourth of July weekend, this location was an obvious choice.

Ski Demski, Father of the Superflag!

This cache is dedicated to honor "Ski" Demski's life and contributions. See Ski's World.

"Ski" Demski was an amazing person with many contributions made during his lifetime. Some include:
-Father to the Superflag, the world's largest flag
-Contributed to Alcohol Recovery Programs by making a bumper sticker business
-Ran for Mayor of Long Beach on several occasions
-Had 2 audiences with Pope John Paul II
-Did charitable work as "Santa Ski" and other traditional icons for holidays
-Challenged local government often with his passionate patriotism

Looked for this one some months ago when it was missing and was sad to have not found it. Today was quite the different story. Made a quick find on this one. My pen would not work on the front of the log sheet but I was able so sign the back side. Thanks for a nicely placed cache and a great point out. Celebrated by going to Roscoe's for lunch, where we bought a homeless man lunch as well. We were waiting outside to get in for lunch and he came up to us claiming that he wanted to die. Hey no reason for that. Best to reconsider these things after some good home cooked food. We bought him lunch and he went on his way to consider his life choices. Fun and interesting day. Thanks

Cache is there and in great condition! I figured it might be muggled with the open style of hide but nope, doing just fine!

Happy Geocaching and glad to pay tribute to Ski. His passing anniversary is just in two days.
