Welcome to the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site!

From May 16 – October 15 your visit begins at our Visitor Reception Center.  From October 16 to May 15 please call ahead (902) 733 2280 to arrange your visit.



You are looking for a small green container containing a log book and pencil. Read the information sheet in the cache and let your mind’s eye takeover! 
  

The geocache is a partnership of the Atlantic Canada Geocache Association, Parks Canada, and the Fortress of Louisbourg Association. Please pay appropriate site entry fees.

 As per the Parks Canada geocaching policy: Trade items are not permitted in caches, this includes Travel Bugs.

Du 16 mai au 15 octobre, votre visite débutera au centre d’accueil.  Du 16 octobre au 15 mai, SVP appeler au (902) 733-2280 pour planifier votre visite.

Vous cherchez un petit contenant vert renfermant un carnet et un crayon.  Lisez le feuillet d’information dans la cache et laissez votre imagination vous emmenez !

In 1961 the Government of Canada began a $25 million project aimed at reconstructing approximately one-quarter of the original town and fortifications. Within this area the buildings, yards, gardens and streets are being recreated as they were during the 1740s, immediately preceding Louisbourg's first siege. This cache commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Reconstruction of the Fortress of Louisbourg. Le gouvernement du Canada entreprend en 1961 un vaste projet, d'une valeur de 25 millions de dollars, de reconstruction d'un quart de la ville et des fortifications originales. À l'intérieur de la zone reconstruite, on a reconstitué les bâtiments, les rues, les courettes et les jardins tels qu'ils étaient dans les années 1740, juste avant le premier siège de la place forte.  Cette cache commémore le 50è anniversaire de la reconstruction de la Forteresse de Louisbourg.
