You can park in the main parking lot. Starting at the main gate heading south, this area was originally known as Mulls Platt which was a separate Island in itself surrounded by five other islands. To travel to the other Islands the settlers had to travel by boat. Through dredging the Hudson River, this area was filled in between the Islands. It took hundreds of years to connect all of the Islands. This all took place between 1756 and many years to about the middle 1900’s. Originally this area was used for farming. You will notice the Hudson River will be on your right. You can explore Mulls Platt while still seeing the river. Easy access from the parking lot and bike trail. The items in the cache are park souvenirs and do not need to be replaced with a trade item. Do not travel off the trail but a few steps.

Schodack Island State Park is open during the summer months from 7:00am to sunset and 7:00am to 4:30pm the rest of the year.
