Banana Slug Meadow Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hemlock: During a routine cache audit I noticed this cache which is temporarily disabled. To me temporary means a couple of months or less. This cache has been under the weather for over 10 months. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don't think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.

When/if this cache is replaced, please email me at hemlock@geocachingadmin.com and I'll be more than happy to take a look at your cache again. If it is still is within the guidelines for cache placement and posting, it will then be unarchived.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Hemlock

Geocache Description:

A nice quiet place just outside downtown Santa Cruz. Cache is located in the Great Meadow, you’ll see why its called that when you get there.

Central Coast Geocachers of California Banana Slug Meadow Geocache
Approaching from the setting sun atop yon hill,
follow the large path of fire safety,
till one finds the solitude of Ken Norris,
the cache lies on the rim of a wash.

Help to keep this place as beautiful as you found it by sticking to the trails. Use the GPS to get close to the site using trails and paths (depressed grass pathways), there is almost no need for trailblazing.

The cache is invisible until you are few feet away from it. Please take care to hide it in the same place. Also if you take any pictures of the cache, yourself, yourself with the cache, etc... then please either e-mail them to me if you would like them posted or post them yourself to the site.

Notes

Cache is in a round-ish clear plastic rubbermaid container with a blue lid. Anything you want to leave must be smallish and either waterproof or in a baggie. Also important to note is that parking is free after 5 p.m. (and on weekends in most lots) and don’t try to park and run to the cache, they will ticket you without hesitation (or put the boot on your vehicle which would really stink). Check the signage at the entrance to the lot you plan to park it.

Cache on!
