Geocache Description:

This cache is a good additional cache to seek if you are also doing our Yellowstone Lake cache. The southwestern part of Wisconsin is rich in early state history. So time for a lesson. Bloody Lake is located in Blackhawk county park. On June 16, 1832 a militia of volunteers led by Henry Dodge (later to become Govenor Dodge) encountered some Sac warriors at this site. This would go down in the history books as "The Battle of Pecatonica". Local lore has it that Bloody Lake got its name because it turned red from the blood shed in the battle. Email us with the answer to this question: How many combatants' blood made the lake turn bloody?

Please no "internet finds" and don't post your answers here even if encrypted.
