The Return to Mt. Chapel
At 1614 feet, Mt. Chapel is Griffith Park’s 2nd highest peak. From the top, there are beautiful vistas of the San Fernando Valley, Griffith Park and downtown Los Angeles. On a clear day, you can even see the Pacific Ocean.
There are many ways to the peak, but if you take the Holly Ridge Trailhead from the top of Beachwood Blvd and follow the correct paths, you can snag Mt. Chapel in just over a mile.
Please note that the original Mt. Chapel Geocache by Saros was plundered. Please re-hide the cache carefully.
All the standard Griffith Park warnings apply: Watch out for humans, rattlesnakes, mountain lions and fluffy bunnies.
