Geocache Description:

Edmund Orgill Park is one of the better kept secrets in Shelby County. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, or fish, or play golf, or Frisbee golf, or have a picnic....you get the idea.

There is a lot of poison ivy in the park. Please be careful when hunting.

Edmund Orgill was mayor of Memphis from 1955 to 1959. During his administration and afterward Edmund Orgill helped to ease integration in Memphis. Although school segregation by bussing and the divisiveness of the Sanitation Strike all loomed ahead, Mayor Orgill was key in convincing the Memphis business community to peacefully desegregate such public places as department stores, parks, libraries and eating establishments.

The terrain is rolling hills and lot of grass. This is a difficult cache to find. It is a micro size and it is in a prepared hiding place. The prepared hiding place took a couple of days to put together and an hour or so to install. It has a log and a pencil. Please put the cache back the way you found it (or the way it is supposed to be.)

My daughter has told me this is just an evil method to hide a cache. Since this is a prepared hiding place do not waste your time looking in traditional hiding places. Like the base of trees, pipes, park benches.... It is designed to be hidden in its setting. Some of the tools we needed to make this hiding place were a drill and a saw. Some of the materials we needed rubber matting, PVC pipe, acrylic paint, and wood. The best way to look for the cache is to look around you and note that something is unique in the setting. Once that is noted go check it out.
