This area is said to be one of Iowa's most haunted places. The stagecoach stop, the quarry, the bridge and Baker Cemetery have a plethora of stories people tell about these places. The story of the haunted bridge is: a young mother was out walking on the bridge to soothe her young child and the child slipped from her arms into the creek below. Whenever it is foggy out, a ghostly woman in white is seen crossing the bridge looking for her lost child.
